He has the ability to assess a challenging project and turn it into a beautiful piece of artwork that we can walk on and enjoy every day.  His work is outstanding and he is a contractor who is punctual, has an eye for detail and leaves a clean work area. This makes him a winner and the right person for the job!!!!

Impeccable Work Ethic and Workmanship

I can't imagine a better person to work with than Ryan Lawyer, Oregon's Finest Custom Tile.  He is fun, responsive, patient, efficient and very professional.  After we had Ryan do a tile floor in our old house, we liked him and his work so much that we hired him to do all the tile in our new custom home.

His work ethic and quality of workmanship were impeccable and his prices are reasonable.  He did all of the tile in our new home - bath and laundry floors, back splashes and counters, walk in tile shower, and kitchen counters and back splashes.  We highly recommend him.  From our view, he 'walks on water'!

Meticulous and Efficient

Having remodeled several older homes over the last 30 years, I have worked with a good number of subcontractors—and Ryan Lawyer stands out among them as excellent in all respects. I was thoroughly impressed with the work that he recently did for me—transforming a badly dated master-bath into a beautiful room that is likely to wear well thanks to his expert tile work.

Ryan’s tile work is meticulous and efficient. Without wasting product, he makes careful cuts so that each piece of tile is perfectly aligned. He has an excellent eye, so he knows where to begin and how to finish the layout for the best effect. And he comes up with ingenious solutions for addressing the kind of unexpected problems (such as an irregular wall) that arise when remodeling an older home.

Moreover, he works extraordinarily hard, rarely taking a break. Mindful that we were expecting an appraiser to be visiting the house within a few days (because earlier stages of the project had been delayed through no fault of his), Ryan arrived one day at 8:00 am and worked steadily until 7:30 pm (taking only 30 minutes for lunch). He then had a 45 minute drive home. Nevertheless, he was back on the job at 8:00 sharp the next morning—exactly when he said I could expect him.

When I complimented Ryan on his punctuality, he seemed a little surprised—probably because he is accustomed to keeping his word, so “I’ll see you at 8:00 tomorrow morning” means exactly that (not “I’ll see you when I get around to it”). But over the years I have known dozens of people who will arrive late without apology—sometimes seriously late (noting only that they were delayed on another job)—and even a few who have failed to show up at all, requiring me to chase after them.  Within a world in which that kind of thing can happen too often, Ryan’s reliability stands out as another one of his strengths.

Finally, he is also a nice guy. He was always careful to check with me when there was more than one way to do something (such as determining the exact placement of a soap dish) and polite when responding to questions. While I would not hire someone simply because he is a nice guy (emphasizing, as I do, quality craftsmanship and reliability in scheduling), a pleasant manner is certainly a bonus when inviting someone into my home for several days.

In short, Ryan Lawyer is absolutely first-rate. I consider myself lucky to have found him

Highly Recommend

The entry, hallway, and utility room of my home had a mixture of flooring: carpet, tile, and vinyl.  I wanted it all replaced with large tiles.  I received a quote from Ryan to remove the existing flooring and replace it with tile.  I was impression by his professional demeanor.  He asked questions, offered recommendations I hadn’t thought of, and verbally reviewed how the job would be performed.  His written quote was equally detailed that gave me confidence in the contracting.  I also received a competitive quote but it wasn’t has detailed as Ryan’s.  Ryan installed the tile and it looks great!  I highly recommend his services.  I will use Ryan again for any future projects.
